Archibald is a cat who enjoys saying out loud what people often prefer to keep silent about. He knows he has been very fortunate — to be born into love, to grow up surrounded by books, music and art, and to see the world.
The little Bengal cat is inspired by the life of Eliza Orzeszkowa — a writer, aristocrat by origin and social activist who did a great deal for others. Archibald believes that even a cat’s word can be an act. That is why a significant part of the proceeds from the book is directed toward helping homeless animals in need of care, treatment and support.
Archibald is not just a cat. He is a family diplomat who knows how to reconcile people, build bridges of understanding both within families and between cultures. He tries to understand how the world works — and why it works this way.
Sometimes he successfully navigates bureaucratic quests in different countries (=^・ェ・^=). And if something doesn’t work out, this whiskered Bengal resorts to unconventional solutions and collective feline intelligence.
Archibald is ironic, empathetic and moderately talkative. Secretly, without his owner Tanya knowing, he has made friends in different countries around the world — and he invites you to become part of this circle.
About the Book
“Archibald in Turkey” is the first book in the series The World of Archibald. It is observational prose about the adult world, told through the voice of a cat.
A Bengal cat with European roots, living in Russia with his owner, sets off on a new journey.
This is an interactive story: you can not only read it, but also listen to Archibald’s purring by scanning QR codes, travel together with the hero, and take part in creating new stories and personal discoveries.
The book is currently published in Russian and Turkish, and an English edition is in preparation.
The text is accompanied by illustrations, a mini-vocabulary and creative tasks.
If you are here, it is not by chance.
